I love my mistress so much! She is always so thoughtful, and never gets herself a treat at Starbucks without getting me something, too. We had a lovely afternoon today; a short walk to Starbucks, an iced decaf mocha for her and ice water for me. After refreshing ourselves with our chosen liquid refreshment, we just sat in the shade with the warm sun on our back and a cool breeze in our faces. I people-watched. I found the most interest in the kids playing on their bikes and scooters. Mrs. M. found great pleasure in reading a hard-bound, thick, used book about the Reformers. She really enjoys books that make her look smart. Today, I believe she read some excerpts of Martin Luther's writings, and Philip Melanchthon is next.
Before we left for the afternoon treat, Mrs. M. wrote down all she has been learning from John 2, when Jesus clears the temple. Jesus tells all present that He will rebuild the temple three days after its destruction. He is referring to His body, to His resurrection on the third day after His body was destroyed. Elsewhere in Scripture, it says that God raised Jesus on the third day, which can only mean that Jesus is God.
