Evenings and Emptiness

The days lately seem intolerably long. It starts getting dark at 5, and Mr. M doesn't usually get home until 7, so for 2 hours it is just me in my quiet and dark home. I have a list of Bible verses to meditate on in these lonely times. They are verses that speak of God's special care for the lonely and downcast, for the orphan and widow. I was reading a good blog by a Christian author about Holiday Loneliness. The author reminds her readers that God knows and cares about our feelings. He wants us to give our sorrows and tears to Him. He cares for us-for our hearts-and wants to hear our struggles and care for us. He is the God of all comfort.
