Passion in the Park
The other night, I was sitting in the park with Persnicketta and another friend, talking about our passions. Persnicketta had her causes and passions, our other friend shared her passions, and then it was my turn. I shared that I am passionate about relationships . . . especially in the church. That was the whole reason for my being at the park; I go there weekly during the summer to watch friends play Frisbee and to hang out and talk to anyone else who's just there to watch. Having no children, my life often looks more like that of a single person. I can go where ever I want, when ever I want. So can my single friends, so we end up spending a lot of time together. The majority of my closest friends are single. I love talking with these women (and men, but let's face it, women are a lot better at hanging out and talking.) I love having deep and profound conversations . . . like talking about our passions and how our passions intermingle and work with our spiritual gifts. The two are mutually beneficial. I am so glad to have these rich relationships with friends, and to share our views and insights on important matters. I am truly thankful for my soul-enriching friendships.
