Happy New Year's, King Alfred!

So it's not really New Year's Day unless your'e counting from last Oct. 25, which is perfectly fine if you ask me. Today is a New Year's Day for me because I have made a resolution. Recalling the orderly and disciplined life of King Alfred the Great, who began translating the Bible in the seventh century, I have been inspired to divide my day into three portions of 8 hours each. One portion will be for sleep. One will be for cleaning the house, taking care of the dog, working out, reading, praying, and generally being productive and maximizing that time. The final portion of the day will consist of recreation and rest, relaxing with friends and family.

So...blogging will be part of which 8 hours...?

Probably the productive time. It's one of the many things that will be on a very fine line. I guess I don't just read random blogs for no reason, so I think I can call it productive, and not wasting time.

That is a GREAT idea. What if you work for 8 hours...do you divide the other 8 into 2 sets of 4 and have four for family and friends, entertainment, leisure, and four for ministry, productivity, errands etc. If I only sleep for 6 hours I can give the other 8 (now 10) into 2 sets of 5 hours...wow...this is complicated. What does Rufus think?

What I think is that your workday is your productivity AND ministry time. After work you have your leisure, maybe go out for a couple cocktails - I mean cups of chai - with friends or family or solo, then you can go home and sit in front of the tube (but do sit-ups or walk in place while you do to work off the "chai".) Then you sleep for 8 hours and start the cycle again. What you need to do is save up your personal errands (laundry, teeth whitening, cleaning, climbing Mount Everest with your favorite teddy bear in tow) for your weekend productivity time. My mistress has kept this new regimen pretty well since she began yesterday.

I think that the Ho left me because I have now migrated to the beta and you haven't. So the HO came with me to the beta.
