I have nothing to say. I've had nothing to say for a while. I find myself yet again ready and willing to completely give up this blogging business. I have a family history of getting really into things for a while, and then just as quickly and easily, losing all interest; like jogging-I did 13 5Ks in one year, jogged a portion of a mile every day, subscribed to, and faithfully read each word of a jogging magazine, studied shoes for fun, and joined the local jogging club. Now, two years later, I may run to the kitchen for a snack, or run to my office to look up a word in the dictionary. That is how I am beginning to feel about my blog: tired of it, bored with it. I need feedback. That would be helpful, to know people are reading and enjoying my blog. Secondly . . . well, there is no secondly-just my firstly. That is my reason for blogging, to connect with people.
As you know, I have returned not long ago from a road trip to Seattle. That was fun--a lot of fun. No access to my computer, and it was still fun-maybe even more so. I liked having fun and meeting people and talking to them without the interference of the blog. I got used to that, and had to force myself to sit and recap the trip. Now it is 3 weeks later, and my husband and I are preparing for a trip to the East Coast. Looking forward to being free of the computer, and writing handwritten notes and hugging my relatives and going to baseball games, trumpet concerts, and maybe riding WaveRunners in Chesapeake Bay.
In more exciting news, I took an elbow to the eye this morning as my husband changed positions in bed. This was not a pleasant sensation, and has made me rethink my ambitions of being the next Rocky Balboa or Lara Croft, Tomb Raider. I also sneezed while bending down near my desk. That was not a nice surprise, either.

I haven't been at this as long as you yet feel somewhat the same way. However, just when I think, Ditch it, someone leaves a comment which encourages me. Let's keep on keeping on together.
I love reading your posts! Babe, I love you so and I want you to know, that I'm gonna miss your posts the minute you abando your blog...Please don't go, don't gooooooo, don't go away, hey, hey, hey!
Love,
El Queso Grande
The thing about blogs...you have your daily customers who stop in regularly for the special, and the occasional visitors looking for something new. The blog's job is to be open, posting regularly so when the patrons arrive, there's a cool drink ready for them. That's when it's at its best and that's how you build an audience over the long term - at least, that's what I think. I don't know, I don't have a public blog, but that's my sense.
The other thing about blogs is that they're very personal. So, naturally, you feel personally hit when all you hear are crickets. I'm sorry about that. Keep in mind that only a small percentage of readers actually post. I rarely post on some of my favorite blogs. I just don't always have something to say. And I don't always have time for more than a quick read of a blog at a sitting.
You, you're about the handwritten note. Keep in mind that the blog sometimes functions more as a monologue with an audience. But even with a quiet audience, you're still connecting. So don't give up. Please. I'll try to post more.

If you quit blogging, I am gonna like so take it out on "Sir" Nathan like you won't believe.
David, I think that may be more of an incentive than a threat!
William loves to sneeze. He has always smiled when he sneezes.

What if I picket in front of your church?
That would be funny. I'd smile so much that I might sneeze!
This is a rather odd collection of comments, but I hope that you can be encouraged to keep blogging! Hold on through this summer, til I can see you face to face and not depend on the blogosphere. Of course, after that, you'll have to keep blogging so that my Mom can keep in touch with you. :)
Anyway, we love you and want you to continue blogging. I tend toward those seasons of disinterest and uninspiration too. I also have spurts of interests and personal "fads" as I think of them. Funny, though, blogging really has been a longer term interest than I thought it would be. I really enjoy it, no matter how much I may frustrate my blog readers with my unfaithfulness.
Btw, Marcella, I could totally hear you say "El Queso Grande," when I read that.
Jen-
You are the one who inspired me to Blog. You can't give it up. :) But I do know what you mean about the face-to-face and the handwritten letter. I enjoyed seeing your pictures and talking to you about your trip even more than reading about it on your Blog--but the Blog is the second best thing!
Hey, Jen.
Just wanted to throw in my bit of blogging advice.
I am one of those who more often reads your blog than comments on it. And I always enjoy it. That said, there is only a limited amount of time each of us has, so be sure you're not doing it out of an empty obligation but because you believe it is the right thing to do. I am amazed at how much time it can take up. But maybe give it a month or two to see if the uninspiration passes or not.
