The most profound of the profound

It has recently occured to me, jenious that I am, that no one who is alive on earth today has experienced death. To whom can we look for comfort when faced with our own mortality and that of our loved ones? Only one man alive has experienced death and is able to comfort us in this. That man is Jesus Christ. He died once and now lives in Heaven. In Him we find comfort in the temporary nature of this short earthly life that will come to an end for us all.

You know, one of the things that struck me when my mom died. I had a very similar thought regarding death

Now she knows what it is like to die. And she knows what nobody in the world knows. Not even the best scientist or the most knowledgeable theologian knows. She knows.

And my own mother does. And our Lord does. There is no need to fear.

Thanks for the post.

J, I have had that same epiphany, jenious that I am. It was as if eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It was a pradigm shift for me.

Profound, David Cho.

Jen, when you or a loved one is faced with death, the profound thoughts you've shared mean more and more. I pray my mom will be ready to die with grace should the Lord chose to take her home. And I pray I will face death with the same unshakable faith, courage, and peace.
