I went to the funeral of a wonderful woman today. This much-loved woman was full of love, care, and generosity for her family. Her photo albums were a testament to this. This woman was also an amazing friend. I had the priviledge of reading the last few letters she recieved, and the exchange of true kindness and concern in these letters showed me that she gave a special honor to all of her friends. Photos told me that this great lady knew how to have fun like no other lady. Train trips, cruises, riding a dune-buggy, she missed no opportunity for fun. Her writings show clearly the unshakeable faith she had in Jesus Christ. His love for her was the motivating factor behind the love she had for her family, the care she showed to friends, and the enjoyment of life that she had.
This incredible lady was my mother, and I will pray daily to follow her example of loving her family, caring for her friends, having fun, and living by faith in Jesus Christ.

this is a wonderful tribute indeed. Lisa and I were sorry to hear of this news, but we're glad we can rejoice in the God of our salvation.
Many thanks.
Oh, J. What a beautiful post about your mother. I am so sorry. I had no idea you bore such a weight this day. How heavy my heart is to know of her passing, and to think of the difficult days that have past without my prayers and sympathy.
I pray that God would give comfort to you and your family. I pray that your great faith would bring celebration to your grief. And I pray that God will grant you deep and peaceful rest.
Ever yours,
Teri
Death, Be Not Proud -Holy Sonnet 10
Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou are not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou'art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy'or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.
~John Donne
I think you have already begun to follow her example, and no doubt that blessed her.
Oh, Jen. That's lovely. I'm so sorry about your loss, however. I echo the thoughts of Clyde, Teri & Beth. God does use you in wonderful ways to bring light to all who know you, as I'm sure your mother did. You bring color and an adventurous spirit to every day.
I love you, my friend.
My dear friend, I wish I could have been at the funeral but I was thinking about you praying for you! I will continue to pray for the Lord's peace in your heart and for the salvation of your family members that don't know the Lord as their savior. I love you very much indeed!
Jen, I don't know if you remember me - we met at the Grazor's. I've been praying for you since that day we talked and especially now with the loss of your mother. Peace and love, dear sister!
