Condescending.

This one word describes too many social interactions I have in passing-and I'm not the only one. For that reason, I am especially careful to NOT have this describe the way I talk to anyone. These condescending comments mostly come from churchgoers, too, which makes it that much more disappointing. Some of my friends (single gals) were telling me the other night that some of their married friends speak to them as if they weren't quite grown-up yet. I am familiar with the feeling. Some people I've talked to speak to me as if I'm not really a grown-up since I don't have a kid. Some people convey to me that I can't possibly understand what it is to be busy since I don't have a kid. I disagree. Apparently, though, even having a kid doesn't qualify you as a full grown-up, because having one isn't enough. You don't get to enjoy your baby very long before people-sometime strangers!-start harassing you about having a second baby. It's a good thing we are accountable only to God, because there's just no pleasing some people. Do you allow for differences among your family, friends, and acquaintances?
