In warning his son about the foolish ways of a wayward woman, King Lemuel tells his son, "Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave. She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths are crooked, but she knows it not." (Proverbs 5:5,6.) This is also a warning for us. If we do not give thought to the way of life, we will be headed to the grave without even knowing it. We are commanded over and over in Scripture to examine our hearts. In Romans 3, Paul tells us that none of us, on our own, choose what is right or good. We must make a conscious effort to choose to do the right thing, because left to our own devices, we will naturally head in the wrong direction. So many voices these days tell us to just go with our gut, and do what feels right. The problem is that when we go with our gut, we usually end up in the gutter, and what feels right rarely is. We need to stop and think and choose to do what God says is right. When we don't intentionally ponder and pursue the path of life, we will unintentionally wander onto the path of death. Many people, especially young women, need to be encouraged to make more informed and Biblical choices. Do you know anyone who needs to be encouraged towards making wise choices today? ". . . let us encourage one another, all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:25
