Saturday Night Sadness

In my special Saturday night reading material, Saturday Night, tonight's chapter deals with television viewing, and the history of networks putting junk shows on TV on Saturday nights with the assumption that no one stays home and watches TV on a Saturday night. So many technologies have come and gone since that research was done, but the truth remains that to admit to staying home on a Saturday night, whether you're studying, watching TV, or browsing the web, is a social taboo that no one likes to admit to. Saturday nights are special, created for going on a date, going to the movies or monster truck races, SOMETHING. I'm off to the home improvement store now, to pick out window coverings; Mr. M and I have a date.
