Oh My, Goodness!

As Christians, we are often surprised and perplexed when those who do not share our love for God treat us fairly, even with kindness. We shouldn't be surprised at this. This is God's common grace, giving people-both His chosen people and those who don't love Him-kindness and goodness. This was seen in both the old and new testaments, so we should not be surprised to find love and kindness in unbelievers; instead, we ought to just thank God for His common grace that extends to all men. A favorite example of this is Daniel in the Old Testament, who found favor with both Nebuchadnezzar and King Darius, and in the New Testament, we read of Jesus' finding favor with both God and man. I thank God for the many unbelieving family and friends who continually show me kindness and love.
