Imperturbable.
Above influence, above being influenced. It seems to me that a major threat to holy, Christian living today is that so many Christians think that we are above society's influence. I don't know why we would think this; the Galatian Christians were warned against letting the sins of others hinder their holy conduct (Gal. 6:1). The Corinthians needed to hear the same thing (1 Cor. 5:6,7). So did the Romans (Ro. 12:2). The Ephesians also had to be admonished not to let the unholy things and people of this world taint their own behavior (Eph. 5:1-7). David asked God to set a guard over his mouth (Ps. 141:3), and Isaiah told God that he was unworthy to speak for Him because his behavior had been tainted by that of the people around him (Is. 6:5). Are you living a life holy unto the Lord, or are you letting yourself be conformed to the world?
