Who The Devil is Satan? And Why Are Jewish People So Smart and Funny?

John, in 1 John 5:19, tells us that the whole world is under the control of the devil; he also says that the children of God are not under the control of the devil. God's spirit lives in His children. I know I am a child of God, and I know that God made me and is in control of me. He even made the parts of my body that cause me to suffer. I've heard people say that Satan is behind our suffering, but I don't buy it. God is far more powerful than Satan, so if He wanted to ease or end my suffering, He could do it at any time . . . and He has eased it a lot through medicine. The apostle Paul also tells of his sufferings that were sent directly and intentionally to him from God. (2 Corinthians 12:8,9.)


On a completely unrelated note, I am reading yet another anthology of humorous fictional essays, and a very large number of the authors are Jewish. I don't know why this is. It seems that Christians just maybe aren't very funny. I hope that's not the case. In any event, it seems like I need to go find me some Jewish friends.
