Prayer-The Christian's Precious Privilege

Prayer is such a privilege! Talking in person to the perfect and sovereign Creator. Yet how often do we do it? We know that God knows our needs before we do, and we know He loves us and meets our needs regardless of whether we ask or not. I've pondered friendship a lot, and I've read a lot on the subject. One excellent book I read, Grown Up Girlfriends, suggested that when we are in need of a friend, we take that need before God. Excellent idea, yet it had never before occurred to me. Looking back at my life, though, I see God's love and care for me in that I never went long without a close confidant-a true friend of my heart. Prayer is a wonderful privilege, one we'd be remiss to neglect, yet even when we foolishly neglect this precious privilege, that only highlights God's lovingkindness towards us. In our unfaithfulness, He truly shows Himself faithful.
