Right Here, Right Now

There have been times in my life when I've wondered if it wouldn't have been better if I'd been born in a different country, or at a different period in history. I've always loved to meditate on Acts 17:26, where we are told that we were born when and where we were born by a very deliberate act of God. It is no mere happenstance that you live where you do, that you know who you know, or that you live in this technological time where you can read my blog. I am who I am in large part due to the time when I was born. I am a product of the Protestant Reformation, which owed so much to the invention of the printing press. I can write my thoughts and share them with people I don't even know because of the access I have to my personal computer. Most of the friends I have are my friends because we live in the same area. Thankfully, my lifetime and my hometown overlap with those of Mr. M, Persnicketta, Sweetie Pie, The Songstress, and so many others who God has put in my life for His own grand plan. No circumstance is accidental . . . no relationship or family or hometown or place of worship.

I love this. Hubby & I have been talking a lot lately about how God ordains us to be born in a certain time, certain country, certain family - but I never put it together with this particular verse. It's so comforting to know God chose us to be here right NOW and right HERE wherever we are!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm glad you have a verse to sum up your thoughts and to meditate on.

I, too, am grateful that in God's Providence, our paths crossed. :-)
