Why?

Chronic disease, a failing economy, crop failure, job loss, infertility, crime, terror, natural disasters, abusive marriages, broken families, human trafficking, craziness . . . what do all these things have in common? 2 things: 1) they are problems we face in this country. 2) they were punishments sent by God on the people of Israel for disobedience, for not acknowledging God and serving Him with joy and gladness of heart. You can read all about it in Deuteronomy 28. All of the problems we face daily are sent from God. Why did a man shoot a bunch of moviegoers in Colorado? Well, Deut. 28:54 says that men become violent as a result of disobedience to God. Why are does marital strife exist? Verse 56 talks about that, and the answer is the same: disobedience to God. Why do I (and so many others) suffer with a chronic disease? I believe it is because our nation has abandoned God to serve false idols. The answer is to repent and to serve God with joy, and pray for our national leaders to do the same. Quite simply, the answer is revival, a renewing of our hearts for Jesus. And it starts with the individual. Do you serve God gladly, and do you pray for our nation?
