A Growing Problem

This week, I will go to my first O.A. meeting -Over-inviters Anonymous. In speaking with the director, I found that the growing occurrence of over-inviting is in large part due to the growing presence of social media in our lives. In the days when it was necessary to hand-write each invitation, and put a stamp on it, both the tediousness of the task and the financial issue of the stamps limited the number of invited guests. Now that it is easy to invite everyone you've ever known with the touch of a button, over-inviting has become a growing national concern, with support groups springing up in most major metropolitan cities. We must all be aware of this subtle predator that can so easily take over our parties and get-togethers.
