Back to a More Sobering Reality

While the North Korean people are denied rice, vegetables and meat, they are force fed a steady diet of lies. They are made to believe that America started the Korean war out of pure hatred, and that their leader singlehandedly won the war and brought peace and prosperity to the land. It is often not until a North Korean arrives in South Korea that they learn that everything they've been taught about history has been lies.

I'm glad I can trust books and shows (for the most part) about American history. I enjoyed Kirk Cameron's movie, Monumental, filled with interviews with experts in history, and I am now enjoying a PBS series, God in America, about the role religion played in the founding of America, and continues to play in governing the country. I'm so glad to have this American holiday to spend studying the true history of my country.
