Is This Not Enough?

Written on Oct. 28
I am in San Francisco with my neon orange running shoes that I bought here a few months ago. I thought they'd like to come back and see where they came from. I'm making full use of them, first roaming around the zoo yesterday, and roaming around the city today. My wanderings in the city have brought me to an amazing dog park with breathtaking views. The old and ornate Victorian houses and the bay views are nothing to be sneezed at, but I have also seen dogs on the tennis courts and dogs on the basketball courts, and I saw one dog standing on his front legs with his rear legs in the air. The sky is blue, blue, blue, and the grass is green, green, green. The craziness and noise of the city are far below me. I wandered in and out of quite a few shops on the streets, and I bought this journal that I am now using. I am enjoying the morning and the dog park so much, and the only way it can get any better is if I can write about it; not an easy decision, since I don't like to spend money, but I looked through a book this morning in which the author puts forth the idea that a piece of writing is a gift to the reader . . . so I justified the expense of the journal by reasoning that it is really my gift to you. Enjoy.
