Conversation

I was just looking on Amazon for books(shocker!)on communication skills. I love to talk to people-to really get to know people one at a time. I delight in knowing the ins and outs of my friends, and what makes them tick. I would definitely consider myself a people person. I am always trying to improve my listening and conversational skills, though. Wendy MyFamousActressFriend majored in communication at UCLA, and it shows-not only in obvious ways like speaking to large groups about mothering and/or fitness and in writing an excellent blog and a book, but also in keeping the conversational ball rolling at lunch with a few pals so that there is never an awkward moment. Also, I love talking with Persnicketta and listening to her stories of family and farm life, and her unexpected enigmatically adventurous activities. Her conversation is absolutely absorbing, and definitely something worth imitating. I think I have a pretty good idea, from the Bible, of the importance of considering our friends' interests as we speak with them, and the importance of drawing someone out in conversation, but I think I could improve in these areas, and I would like to.
