My Three Birds

I have a great little bird feeder, and a good view of it. I have three regulars; Papa Bird, who is slightly overweight and likes to just sit on the bottom of the feeder and peck at the crumbs. His mate and the mother of his baby (who was born and raised in a nest right outside of my kitchen window)is much more animated and energetic. (I think she does P90X.) She is not content to just sit, but prefers to hang on to the side of the feeder to get at the contents. Their baby has gone off to college, but the older couple has adopted a young goldfinch, full of youth and vigor. He is usually seen hanging upside down or sideways on the feeder. These three form a fun little makeshift family, and are nice to have around.
