It was another quiet and lazy day. I strolled down to the coffee shop and sat in the sun with my iced mocha. When I got back home, there was a package on the porch. I wasn't home 5 minutes before Mr. M called and asked if we had gotten a package. When I said that we had, in fact, gotten a package, he said that he would be home right away to retrieve said package, and then he'd have to leave right away to deliver the package to the valley. He came home quickly, and he left quickly. Not 2 minutes after he left, he called me from his car to tell me that someone-someone he knew to be a friend of mine-had driven to our house and parked briefly in front, and had then moved the car to the end of the street before she had even gotten out. He couldn't think of her name, but he narrowed it down to 3 girls; it was either the IT Girl, who by all accounts should be at work, or it was The Guitarist's Wife, who I barely know, or it was Sweetie Pie. Whoever it was had 2 small dogs with her. I know Sweetie Pie has 2 dogs, and she knows where I live, so my money was on her. I hurried to my feet and ran out the door and walked as fast as my feet would take me to the park across the street. No one. I turned on my heels and headed for the other park, and there she was . . . Sweetie Pie and her dogs.
There was quite a bit of excitement in my heart on account of the mystery of it all, and I also found it a little bit hilarious. Thanks to Sweetie Pie for the game of hide-and-seek, and for the nice walk we had after I found her.
