The Golden Rule.

I think we all know that we should treat others the way we want to be treated. The funny thing is, we all want to be treated differently. For example, Mr.D is very organized and orderly. He naturally assumes his friends appreciate organization and order. So, he goes on a trip to visit Mr.L, and he calls Mr.L every 10 minutes to update him on his ETA. Mr.D thinks he is being very nice; after all, that's what he'd want someone else to do if they were coming to visit him. Problem is, Mr.L is pretty flexible with his time, and he really just wants to rest quietly for a while before his friend comes over. Then there is Mr.R. Mr.R casually mentioned a visit to Mr.L a few weeks ago, and Mr.L said that was a grand idea. So Mr.R started out to see Mr.L. He also wanted to be kind, and to treat his friend the way he would want to be treated. Mr.L prefers not to be disturbed, and he is unruffled by an unexpected guest. So he doesn't call Mr.R at all. Now, both Mr.D and Mr.R were being considerate of their friend, treating him as they like to be treated. However, their actions were completely dissimilar. I guess what I'm saying is that it is a good thing that God knows our hearts, because motivation can make the world of difference when it comes to our hearts and how we show kindness.
