The entire book of Leviticus contains instructions for worshiping God. God tells His people exactly how they are to worship Him. In Lev. 10:1, God's wrath is kindled when Nadab and Abihu ignored God's instructions and tried to worship Him the way they wanted to.
In Jesus, God's given us a new way, a better way (Hebrews 4:14-16), to worship Him. We worship God through Jesus . . . through Jesus; that is the only acceptable way to worship God.
