The Wartime Strategy of Distraction.

We all know that if we want to step on someone's foot, we distract them by getting them to look up, to look elsewhere, away from the real action.  We also know that if you want to break into a yard that is protected by a dog, you distract the dog with a steak, allowing you easy access to the yard while the dog is focused on his snack.  Satan has his own tools that keep our focus away from the real action, the Gospel.  We live in a spiritual battle, and many in God's army are letting themselves get so caught up in issues that are not the Gospel.  Those issues are important-evolution, homosexuality, abortion, euthanasia-, but they are not the Gospel.  1 Corinthians 15:3 tells us that the essence of the Gospel is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised.  That must be our primary message.  That is the message that will save souls.  Let us beware of the schemes of the devil and not be overpowered.
