The Days of my Life

I usually start each morning with a cup of tea. Sometimes I sit in the backyard in the cool afternoon breeze and read. More often than not, I also fall asleep out there. I spend quiet time praying to my God. I read from His word. I might go to lunch with a friend. I might write something. I might have to run around and do errands. I walk Rufus. I enjoy all these things. As I lay in bed going over my day, I wondered to myself if I could find enjoyment in any of these things if my eternal destiny wasn't taken care of. Could I sit and enjoy the breeze if I didn't know that I will go on living after I die? Could I be carefree and really enjoy the present to the fullest if I thought I only have my one short life on earth and then PFFFT, that's it? I don't think so. If I didn't believe in the immortality of the soul, I think I would feel as if I had to run around like crazy making the most of this life before my time comes. A good friend of mine reminded me of this great verse this morning: Ecclesiastes 2:25. Here, Solomon, the first and greatest philosopher of all time, asks himself, "Who can eat or find enjoyment without God?" I hope you take the time to enjoy this day and enjoy God the way He intended.

Sounds nice. Btw, I had a dream the other night, in which you posted how excited you were that your husband had become a Christian.

thanks for posting this! I agree. I don't think we think about these things enough and we take it for granted.
