Friendship Stories, #1

I feel like a young schoolgirl just about to go to my first dance. I am meeting a new friend tomorrow. I feel giddy, and I can't think of anything to do other than write. EEeeee! My mind is running 100 mph thinking of questions to ask my friend. Why is she going to Madagascar tomorrow? Where and when did she learn Swahili? I'm just so excited! I first met her at an outdoor film festival. (It was a small gathering at a friend's backyard.) She made me laugh. Then, a few months later, she invited Mr. M and I over for a Thanksgiving-leftovers feast. Then, we met on a Saturday morning for coffee and saw Dog the Bounty Hunter. We recently went for coffee in Palm Springs, that fiasco when I failed so miserably in my attempt to look cool. I asked for a do-over, a chance to redeem myself, and we agreed on tomorrow! I already have my outfit laid out. I brushed the dog and vacuumed the carpet. I hope she likes me! Maybe I'm being silly. Am I being silly? What are some of your favorite friend-making memories?

In light of Pro.27:2 "Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips.", I plan to write a series of favorite friendship memories in the next few weeks.

My first friendship date was with who would later become my best friend. We went to a college basketball game together and that turned into years of games and being best friends.
