Surprise Sunday Shopping Spree.

I bought books. Are you surprised? Mr. M humored me as long as he could in the bookstore, but he eventually gave up and went outside to wait. The first book I found is a biography about Julia Child. I think she, more than anyone, inspires my blogging. She found something she loved to do (cook), and she did it for herself, and she also shared her love for it with America through the new medium of television. Laura Shapiro says of Julia that she "was able to enter into the homes and lives of her fans." I would say that is my goal for this blog-not just to indulge my passion for writing, but to build relationships with my readers. I suppose that is my dream for my blog-to use it as a vehicle to build relationships - and my friend and fellow blogger (and BlahGirl), Sherry, who writes "Write, Sherry" and "You'll Thank Me Later" (there are links to her blogs-buttons, if you will-on my sidebar, but I don't know how to put them in the text), Sherry tells me to "Never let my dream die." So I write and new posts and respond to the comments I get. I've only read the introduction so far, but I am looking forward to reading more. The second book I found is called Writing Personal Notes & Letters. Personal notes and letters are my thing. It all started with my sister, and has continued. I love to get letters, I love to send letters. If I know you, I've probably sent you a letter; and if I haven't, I don't have your address. Stationery is the only thing I collect (well, that and books about letter-writing), because it won't become clutter; you write on it and send it off to a friend. That's been my day - or, at least, the second part of my day. The first part was church, which I will write about later this week. This is The White Wave. Bon appétit!
