On a recent trip to San Francisco, I went to the zoo. It was quite a long trip (approx. 137 miles), and required 3 bus transfers. I had never been to this particular zoo, nor had I ever been to this area of San Francisco, so to say I was a tad nervous would be a grand understatement. I spent days on end studying the many different routes and transit options available to me. I laid out my outfit the night before, and carefully packed my camera bag; photos would provide critical proof that my mission had been a success and my destination had been reached. The big day came, and I prepared for the grueling cross-town venture by having a big breakfast of chocolate cinnamon French toast with seasonal berries and banana slices. I set out after breakfast, and my trip went swimmingly. Couldn't have been better. At the zoo, I saw giraffes, zebras, an ostrich, a hippo, a rhino, lots of penguins, and many different species of R.O.U.S. (Rodents Of Unusual Size.)
I have, in the past, considered going back to school to learn new skills and meet new people and challenge myself, but I experienced all of that by going to the zoo, and it was a lot easier and cheaper than going back to school. Who knows what's next for me?!
The zoo photos are all on my flickr account, the yellow box on the right.
