A Month of War And Peace

Today marks one full month of reading War And Peace. I am about three fourths of the way through. Reading the book has been a great exercise in time management. Having the goal of getting finished before our big vacation in March, I have to keep very aware of my schedule and my use of time. I've been more careful with my time. I don't make a habit of wasting time, but for this past month, I have been especially careful to avoid it. The fun things I choose to take time for-Bible study, prayer, talking with friends and family-I really appreciate; I'm not just doing them because I have nothing better to do. I make a very conscious choice as to what I'm going to do. It's been really great. Specifically-and I may be repeating myself-, I really enjoy the fact that I'm choosing only to do things that are important; kinda' like blowing off the chaff-what's left is the good stuff. I've been spending less time with chaff, and more time with the good wheat. And that has been really good for me-just seeing what things in my life are really valuable.

Well, this was my study break; now it's time to get back to reading.

I too have been working on managing my time better this year. War and Peace? Know it is a classic but never desired to read it.
