Trustworthy

Today's post is just a question I've been thinking about; what makes someone trustworthy? And will the answer be different for everyone? What qualities do you look for in someone before you feel comfortable sharing secrets with them?

Quite simply, trustworthiness means someone is worthy of being trusted. In my mind, that means they understand your values (even if they don't share those values), respect you (even when they disagree), and aren't a blabber-mouth. A trustworthy person has integrity, and is dependable. They do what they promise, as much as humanly possible.

I always think of something I've read several times (and I think it is obvious), but if someone tells you their friends' secrets, then what would make you think they're not also going to keep your secrets?

Yes, exactly.
