I was
asked the other day who would most enjoy my book. I think both people
currently going through hard times and people who have gone through hard
times in the past will get the most enjoyment from it. Many of the
poems were written during the hard time when the symptoms of my chronic
illness were at their worst. I did my best to focus on the many good
things in my life. I focused on my faith,
and put my energy into knowing God better and serving His people in any
capacity I could. I spent my free time (and I had more of it than I
wanted), enjoying God and noticing all the good gifts He had given me.
The poems I wrote, if I had to assign to them just one theme, are about
God's common grace . . . the things we can all enjoy: a cool summer
breeze, a hot cup of tea on a chilly day, a bird singing in the spring,
laughing with friends and enjoying good times with family. It is always
a good idea to take note of, and thank God for, the good things in our
lives, but it is especially good to focus on those good things during
hard times.http://www.amazon.com/Everyday-Poetry-Looking-Bright-Side/dp/1620205033/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=1-1&keywords=Everyday+Poetry+by+Jennifer+Morrissette
Also, in October, I will be writing a series on the stories behind the poems on my author page, here: https://www.facebook.com/jenniferspoems.
