The Beginning of an Era.

Device Guy and I lost our furry friend last week, so the house is eerily quiet.  I have started hiking and walking (5 miles this morning!) in preparation for possibly hiking the Appalachian Trail or the Pacific Crest Trail or any big, long hike that I might do sometime in the future.  This whole backpacking thing, carrying your life on your back, may prove to be a bit much for me.  For this year, I'll focus on walking and local day hikes.  Still, it is fun to read others' stories from hiking adventures.
