Summer Showers

This is my mom's baby shower given to her at the Baptist church.  My mom (the one in yellow) was 42 when she had me.  I am . . . very close to that age, and now it is my turn to have a shower and have a baby.  Some things have changed, many haven't.  My shower will be held at a friend's huge house, and our baby will be there.  I imagine there will be gifts, but more importantly, there will be friends and family and great joy.  There will be thanks and praise to God for a long-awaited and much prayed-for baby.  I believe my parents, just like Mr. M and I, were childless for 23 years before a tiny one joined the family.  I guess waiting and praying run in the family.  Thankfully, so does faith and loving friendships.
